Across the vast pampas and piercing mountains of Chilean Patagonia, a handful of Gauchos continue to live their isolated and traditional lifestyle in distant outposts. Their interweaving stories reveal an intimate and mesmerising portrait of these iconic South-American figures who are faced with the end of their semi-nomadic way of life.
The Campesinos Project is a poetic multiplatform documentary work that looks to explore the intimate world of the stoic South American Gaucho. The multidisciplinary work will comprise of an observational cinematic feature film Directed by Matias Bolla, produced by Carolina Sorensen and shot by Miller Best. Accompanying the film will be an analogue photographic series shot by Pie Aerts, which combined with scenes from the film will create an immersive online narrative experience.
